Monica wrote the following about her aunt, Carol:

On December 1st, 2017, my aunt, Carol Oleski was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. Well known for her warmth, kindness, and humor, Carol fought with unmatchable strength—having gone through several rounds of chemo, radiation and immunotherapy and still smiled. As a mother, grandmother, wife, foster parent for over 25 years, board member for the Scranton School District, Crisis intervention specialist through NEIU, and past president of the PTA it is clear that she had ALWAYS put the needs of others before her own.

After several surgeries and a brave fight, we lost Carol on Oct 9, 2018. She was surrounded by family. With that in mind, health care bills are high and the family has a ton of stress. To ease the troubles, even if just a little bit, I’ve decided to host a silent art auction on Nov. 2, 2018 to raise funds for Carol’s family. This event also gives people in Scranton the ability to own a local piece of art while proceeds will be going back to a family in need.
